Virginia Military Institute regimental commander Brian Pritchard ’25 guides members of corps leadership down Letcher Avenue Monday as they begin practice for the presidential inaugural parade. The Presidential Inaugural Committee has selected the VMI corps of cadets out of a record number of applicants to march in the Jan. 20 inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th president of the United States. This will be the 16th inauguration in which VMI cadets have marched. The first was in 1909, when President William Howard Taft was sworn in; the last was when President Trump became the 45th president.
