Events Awarded Tourism Grants

The Rockbridge Regional Tourism Board has awarded $9,250 in grants to five local event planners in round eight of their tourism event sponsorship program.

The events are being held between Jan. 1 and June 30 of this year and were chosen based on the strength of the application, the projected ability to attract out-of-town visitors, and how well the event aligns with tourism goals for the region.

Sponsorship monies were distributed to the following events in round eight: · U SA B MX B lue Ridge Nationals ($3,000), Maury River Fiddlers’ Convention ($2,500),· T he Rockbridge Ballet presents Beauty & the Beast ($2,000), East Coast Elite Track & Field ($1,000) and Lexington- Rockbridge Juneteenth Celebration ($750).
