Students from Effinger, Collierstown, and South Buffalo areas of Rockbridge County are invited to apply for two Nelson Wilson Hall scholarships. For 2025 the Club increased this award and added an additional grant. This year there are two scholarships available, valued at $3500 and $1500, respectively.
They are particularly supportive of students pursuing vocational and technical training. Applicants in these fields will receive a ten-point bonus in the club’s scoring process.
The deadline for applications is March 31, 2025. Applications for interested students are available from the Rockbridge County High School Counseling Office or by email from Roger@LNLComputers. com.
“The Effinger Ruritan Club is dedicated to serving and supporting our rural communities,” said a spokesperson for the club. “Our goal is to encourage graduating young people to stay in this area, to build a prosperous life, and to raise their families here.”
