Laurel Worth Sheffield and MacKenzye Hayes Leroy were united in matrimony on October 19, 2024, in a hilltop wedding at Glen Maury Park.
The bride is the daughter of Eric and Elise (Sprunt) Sheffield, of Rockbridge. The groom is the son Yvon and Kyle Leroy of Port Jervis, New York.
The wedding took place with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, beneath a wedding arch made by the bride’s father. Escorted by her parents, the bride wore a slipsleeve satin gown with wedding trail, bedecked with embroidered flowers.
Attendants were Silvia Sheffield of Durham, NC, sister of the bride, and Sydnie Leroy Gil of Charlotte, NC, sister of the groom. The groom’s toddler nephews, Bradford and Theodore Gil, served as leaf throwers. Officiant was Dr. Drew Dietzel, with cellist Julia Goudimova providing music.
Following the ceremony, the couple and their parents hosted dinner and dancing at the park’s double-decker pavilion.
A graduate of Rockbridge County High School, Davidson College, and the VCU College of Health Professions, the bride is employed as a physical therapist in Charlottesville. A graduate of Washington and Lee and the UVA School of Data Science, the groom is employed by S&P Global. After a honeymoon to Austria, the couple resides in Charlottesville, enjoying their love of running, and rooting for the NY Mets and UVA women’s basketball.
