Feb. 2, 2025 Editor, The News-Gazette: Well that didn’t take long. On Saturday the president announced he would levy tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China. Those three happen to be our largest trading partners so the convicted felon decided it was better to put a sales tax on the entire country than actually work with our trading partners and give the citizens of this country lower prices across the board as promised.
Additionally he had Musk take over the treasury and shut out government employees responsible for taking care of the country’s spending and replace them with his minions on the treasury’s computers. Elon is not an elected official nor does he have a security clearance or has he been vetted by Congress. Mr. Musk is in contact with Mr. Putin and has never disclosed what they talk about or his relationship with Russia. So cheap eggs not so much.
Loosing your Social Security checks and Medicare and Medicaid payments, along with other subsidies, is looking like a very real possibility since the Republicans took the White House and Congress and have given their blessing to their “dear leader.” When will the Republicans replace their elephant logo with the swastika?
