Pages from a new StoryWalk book were installed last month on the Marl Creek TRACK Trail at McCormick Farm in Raphine. Area children can read from the book “Chicken Soup with Rice: A Book of Months” by Maurice Sendak as they walk the half-mile trail, which is finally no longer snow and ice-covered. The StoryWalk project, sponsored locally by Virginia Cooperative Extension and Live Healthy Rockbridge, can also be found at the Fox Trot TRACK Trail at Glen Maury Park. A new book on the Glen Maury Park trail was not installed in January because of the snow and ice on that trail. However, pages from two new books are scheduled to be installed on both trails by early next week, and the stories will be updated monthly throughout the rest of the year. (Mary Woodson photo)
