PM Boys Defeat Narrows To Win District Title, PM Girls Fall

In the final games of the regular season, the Parry McCluer High School boys basketball team earned a 69-56 home win over Pioneer District rival Narrows on Saturday afternoon in Buena Vista, right after the PM girls suffered a 44-32 loss to Narrows.

With the win, the PM boys claimed the Pioneer District regular-season title, finishing 9-0 in the district. The Fighting Blues (16-4) had earned a 77-69 road win over Narrows (14-8 overall, 7-3 district) eight days earlier. Langston Cook led PM with 29 points.

The PM girls (16-4, 6-2) played the Green Wave (14-4, 8-0) much more competitively than in their 69-38 road loss eight days earlier, but Narrows prevailed to earn the regular-season district title.

In next week’s Pioneer District tournament, the PM boys will be seeded No. 1, and the PM girls will be seeded No. 2. Both teams will have byes in the quarterfinals and will play at home for the semifinals. Check back here for the schedule and updates.
