Heavy rains over the weekend caused localized flooding in our area. Many low lying grounds were inundated with standing water and several roads and driveways were flooded. Sunday evening, the James River had risen enough to back up Elk Creek at James River Road enough to touch the bottom of the Elk Creek bridge and flood the gated field. Stay safe out there as more winter weather moves in this week!
Sending birthday wishes to Andrew Blair and Chris Smith, as well as to Faith Baptist Church members Paisley Tomlin, Betty Coffey, Donna Beverly and Michael Pannell, and to St. John’s Episcopal Church member Kris Springer. Happy anniversary to Andrew and Brandi Blair and to Barry and Shelly Fitzgerald.
At Faith Baptist, there will be a men’s prayer breakfast this morning at 8. A communion service will be held on Feb. 23 and a song and praise service at 6 p.m. also on Feb. 23.
Many thanks to Brandall Branch for leading a morning prayer service this past Sunday at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Thanks also to Bert Buford and Josh Gardner for providing music. Next Sunday will be a morning prayer service led by Lynn Williams.
