Feb. 26, 1975

A group of Fairfield citizens requested that the county assume operation of the Blue Ridge Recreation Park. The park’s board of directors was willing to sell the park to the county for $7,00. - Eric Sisler announced he was running for re-election as commonwealth’s attorney for Lexington and Rockbridge County. - Grade A large eggs were 59 cents a dozen at Kroger. -As many as 2,000 students and their dates attended Washington and Lee University’s Fancy Dress Ball. The theme that year was “In the Mood.”

March 2, 2005

Unofficial weather watchers reported that as much as 11 inches of snow fell in the Buena Vista area during a late February storm. -A fire thought to have been ignited by hot elements used by house painters heavily damaged a house on Jackson Avenue. - Eighteen-count cartons of Grade A large eggs were on sale at Kroger for 99 cents.
