Unidentified woman leads LPD on chase
Officers with the Lexington Police Department secure the scene where an unidentified woman's vehicle came to rest near a residential home on Taylor Street after a chase. The vehicle did minor damage to the home and the woman was taken into custody without further incident.

Update: The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Deborah Trott, 60, of Edgemoor, South Carolina. She has been charged with four felony counts of assault on a law enforcement officer and one felony count of eluding police, as well as misdemeanor counts of general reckless driving, reckless driving (20 or more mph over speed limit) and obstruction of justice. Additionally, a summons for driving under the influence of drugs was issued, and summons for three moving violations were obtained.

An unidentified woman is in custody after leading Lexington Police Officers on a pursuit this morning.

Just before 8:00 am today, officers with the Lexington Police Department were called to the Hampton Inn located at 401 E. Nelson Street for a woman acting erratic and possibly damaging vehicles in the parking lot of the hotel. When officers arrived on location, they observed a white woman, possibly in her mid to late 50's, in the parking lot of this location continuing to act in a disorderly manner. At this time, officers were concerned for her safety as well as others.

The woman failed to obey police officers' commands, she then entered her vehicle and fled the area in a reckless manner. The officers pursued in an effort to prevent the driver from harming herself or any other motorists. The vehicle pursuit ended with the woman suspect striking a tree and the vehicle coming to rest at the rear of a residential home on Taylor Street causing minor damage to the home.

The woman  was taken into custody without incident and is currently being seen at the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Law enforcement officials are still in the process of identifying the woman before placing charges on her.

This story has been edited to state that the house behind which the vehicle came to a stop is located on Taylor Street, not Spotswood Drive.
