A Lexington woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident about 2 miles south of Lexington Saturday morning, March 1.
Patricia Ann Bane, 79, died at the scene of the crash at the intersection of Pine Forest Road and U.S. 11.
According to the Virginia State Police, a 2005 Toyota 4-Runner failed to yield the right-of-way while turning onto U.S. 11 from a stop sign on Pine Forest Road. The Toyota was struck by a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 which was traveling south on U.S. 11 at 11:20 a.m.
The driver of the Toyota was identified as Bane, who was wearing her seatbelt.
The 40-year-old driver of the Dodge was not wearing his seatbelt and was injured. He was transported to a local hospital and treated for injuries received in the crash.
No charges are pending.
The crash remains under investigation.
