In the Class 1 state quarterfinals, the Parry McCluer High School boys basketball team will take on Patrick Henry-Glade Spring tonight, Tuesday, at 6 p.m. at Virginia High School in Bristol.
The Fighting Blues (20-5) won the Pioneer District regular-season and tournament titles before falling to George Wythe 75-57 in the Region 1C championship game on Saturday in Northside High School in Roanoke. The PH-GS Rebels (25-3) won the Region 1D title.
PM’s last state tournament appearance was four years ago, when the Blues won their first state title in program history.
The winner of tonight’s quarterfinal game will advance to play the winner of tonight’s quarterfinal game between George Wythe and Chilhowie. The semifinal game is scheduled for Friday, with the time and location to be determined.
