An Ash Wednesday service will be held today, March 5, at 7 p.m. at the Mt. Horeb United Methodist C hurch. M embers of the community are invited to join the Collierstown and Mt Horeb congregations for this special worship service.

Be sure to mark your calendar for the “allyou- can-eat” spaghetti dinner hosted by the Collierstown United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. The meal will include spaghetti, tossed salad, bread, dessert and assorted beverages. Meals will be offered as a dine-in or take-out eating experience. The cost of the meal is by donation.

The Night Circle of the Collierstown Presbyterian Church will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, March 6, in the fellowship hall at 7 p.m. A time of fellowship will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Bible study. Rosalea Potter will lead the study from Mark 6:3044 on “Hospitality: Offering Your Resources.” For more information, contact Debbie McCormick at (540) 460-1325. All are invited to join the group in person or on Facebook Live from the church’s Facebook page at 7 p.m.

The Collierstown Presbyterian Church is receiving donations for a love offering for Stephen McCormick whose home was destroyed by a fire on Feb. 20. G ifts designated for the love offering may be mailed to the Collierstown Presbyterian Church, 31 Church Drive, Lexington, VA 24450.

Rockbridge CAN (Rockbridge Connect and Nourish) will provide a free community dinner at the Palmer Community Center located at 1230 Blue Grass Train, Lexington) on Wednesday, March 19, from 6 to 7 p.m. The meal will be catered by the Lexington Catering Company and served dine-in style. Those needing transportation may call (540) 463-3346 to arrange a free ride to and from the meal.

The Collierstown United Methodist Church will host a concert by The Crestmen, a Southern Gospel group based in Staunton, on Sunday, March 30, at 2 p.m. The Crestmen have appeared nationally on RFD-TV and on WHSV TV 3 in the Shenandoah Valley. The Crestmen travel coast to coast spreading the Gospel in song. The community and residents in the surrounding area are invited to attend the concert at no charge. A free-will offering will be taken.
