MGCC Nursing Programs Taking Applications

Mountain Gateway Community College is now accepting applications for its practical nursing and associate degree nursing programs.

The practical nursing program is ideal for those looking to become licensed practical nurses (LPNs), stated a spokesperson. “By completing this program, students will be prepared to sit for the NCLEX-PN, the national exam for LPN licensure. LPNs provide essential care, including taking vital signs, administering medications, and supporting patients through treatments. The program is designed to help students get into the workforce quickly, with the next cohort starting in summer 2025.”

For those already in the field or those looking for a higher-level position, the associate degree nursing program provides the education and training needed to become a registered nurse (RN). Upon graduation, students are eligible to sit for the RN licensure exam, opening doors to higherpaying opportunities and a broader range of health care settings.

The associate degree program, continued the spokesperson, “equips students to provide skilled, compassionate care while addressing the increasing complexity of healthcare needs. The curriculum emphasizes key nursing competencies and incorporates a patient-centered approach to care.

“Whether you’re seeking a career change, a way to increase your earning potential, or simply looking to advance your nursing career, these programs will help you achieve your goals.”

Applications for the LPN program are due by April 1. The application deadline for the ADN program is May 15. Summer classes start May 27.
