Two Rockbridge County High School basketball players, sophomore center Ruby Goodhart for the girls and senior guard Noah Hamm for the boys, received all-district honors last week.
Goodhart, a strong scorer, rebounder and defender, was named to the all-district second team. Under the direction of second- year head coach Darrell Plogger, the RC girls went 11-13 overall to achieve their second-highest win total in program history. RC’s season ended with a 48-45 road loss to Alleghany in the Region 3C quarterfinals. It was the Wildcats’ first regional tournament appearance in six years. In the challenging Valley District, the Wildcats went 5-9.
Hamm, a talented shooter and ball handler, was also named to the all-district second team. Guided by fourth-year head coach Rob Winfield, the RC boys went 1-22 overall and 0-14 in the Valley District.
