A Lexington woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident about 2 miles south of Lexington Saturday morning, March 1.
Patricia Ann Bane, 79, died at the scene of the crash, which occurred at 11:20 a.m.
According to the Virginia State Police, a 2005 Toyota 4-Runner failed to yield the right-of-way while turning onto U.S. 11 from a stop sign on Pine Forest Road. The Toyota was struck by a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 that was traveling south on U.S. 11.
The driver of the Toyota was identified as Bane, who was wearing her seatbelt.
The 40-year-old driver of the Dodge was not wearing his seatbelt and was injured. He was transported to a local hospital and treated for injuries received in the crash.
No charges are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
