Rockbridge Ballet Performance Inspired By Artworks

At its meeting on Jan. 19, members of Lexington City Council heard an update from the recently formed Spotswood Building Committee regarding the efforts to update the design of the proposed development at 406 Spotswood Drive by Echelon Resources Inc.

Basketball fans will have plenty of games to watch this weekend while supporting a noble cause at the ninth annual Rock the Ribbon Roundball Shootout this Friday and Saturday at Rockbridge County High School.

In December, the RCHS Forest and Ecology class held a fundraiser in which they sold freshly cut Christmas trees and wreaths. In a span of 12 hours, the class had sold a total of 76 Christmas trees and 20 Christmas wreaths. The class wishes to thank everyone who participated and plans are being made to continue the fundraiser for next year.

New Officers Elected Last Month

Amy Phillips has joined the Mountain Gateway Community College Educational Foundation as its new executive director, it was announced by MGCC President Dr. John Rainone. The Bath County native and resident also serves as the director of Institutional Advancement and public information officer for the college.

A local family has set up a scholarship in memory of their son for Rockb ridge County High School seniors and alumni who are pursuing a career related to special education services.

Buena Vista residents will have an extra nine days to purchase their vehicle decals this year. The deadline for affixing the 2023 decals to the windshields of vehicles in Buena Vista has been extended from March 1 to March 10.
