The Washington and Lee University women’s and men’s swimming teams both won Old Dominion Athletic Conference titles last week at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

The Rockbridge County High School indoor track and field teams concluded their season Saturday at the Region 3C meet at Heritage High School in Lynchburg. The Wildcats had several strong performances, but none of their athletes advanced to the Class 3 state meet.

Another Near Miss

Parry McCluer High School junior swimmer Olive King won both the girls’ 50-yard and 500-yard freestyle races at the Region 1C and 2C meet on Thursday at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.

Blues Place Third In Home Regional Tournament

Hundreds of professional and amateur bicycle motocross (BMX) riders from around the world took part in the USA BMX Blue Ridge Nationals at the Virginia Horse Center last weekend. The three-day event, which went from Friday to Sunday, featured BMX riders navigating jumps, twists and turns along the track. Snare Regular Season Title With 13th Straight Win

The Parry McCluer High School boys basketball team positioned itself to play for the Pioneer District regular-season championship with two district road wins last week. The Fighting Blues (18-4 overall, 9-1 district) cruised to an 90-48 win over Bath County on Tuesday of last week before defeating Narrows 83-66 on Thursday.

The Parry McCluer High School boys basketball team won the Pioneer District regular- season title and earned the top seed in the district tournament by defeating Narrows 90-74 on Monday night at James River High School in Buchanan.

Black, Pfaff Capture Individual Regional Titles

Tryouts for the Black History play “Back to the Past” that had been scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10, have been rescheduled until after the schools’ basketball season.
