Barger’s Three-Run Blast Boosts Blues

The Parry McCluer High School girls tennis team won both of its matches last week to improve to 4-0, while the Rockbridge County girls suffered a pair of home losses and fell to 2-4.

Led by strong pitching and hitting, the Rockbridge County High School baseball team won two road games early last week, defeating Staunton 8-6 last Monday before earning a 10-1 win over Harrisonburg in the Valley District opener last Tuesday.

With strong hitting, fielding and pitching, the Parry McCluer High School softball team earned a 12-8 home win over previously undefeated Temple Christian on Tuesday of last week in Buena Vista.

The Rockbridge County High School boys tennis team suffered a pair of road losses last week, falling to Valley District rival Harrisonburg 7-2 last Tuesday and coming up short 5-4 against Lord Botetourt on Wednesday.

The Rockbridge County High School boys soccer team suffered back-to-back road defeats last week, losing 4-0 at Staunton last Monday and dropping a 5-1 decision to Harrisonburg in the Wildcats’ first Valley District match last Tuesday.

RC Boys Drop Hard-Fought Lax Game To Salem

The Rockbridge County High School softball team returned from spring break in strong form, earning a pair of road wins, a 10-0 shutout of Staunton on Monday of last week and an 11-4 triumph in the Valley District opener at Harrisonburg the following day.

Wildcats Take Down Blues In Softball

Rockbridge County High School announced its second Athletic Hall of Fame class on Monday of last week.

The 46th annual Lexington Road and River Relay will take place on Saturday, May 6, starting at 10 a.m.

With victories in four events, the Rockbridge County High School outdoor track and field teams performed well in a Valley District meet at Harrisonburg last Wednesday.
