Marvin Matthew Jackson, 87, of Goshen died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024.

Born Sept. 12, 1936, in Goshen, he was a son of Burlin Jackson and Hilda (Bowles) Jackson Miller.

He began working at the age of 11, and was a long-time employee of Jim Gum Logging where he had a reputation as a hard worker and an excellent truck driver. He loved his work, and also enjoyed gardening. He had an enthusiasm for hunting in his younger years, and enjoyed watching westerns in his later years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Louise (Warren) Jackson.

He is survived by two daughters, Diane Campbell of Roanoke and Glenda Oscar of Greenville; and a half-brother, James Miller of Goshen.

A private graveside service will be held in Oak Lawn Memory Gardens.
