RANDY JAMERSON

RANDY JAMERSON

Randall “Randy” Lee Jamerson, 71, of Buena Vista, passed away Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, surrounded by family and friends at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a heroic battle with cancer. His firm belief in God supported him through his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.

He was born Jan. 11, 1953, in Rockbridge County, the son of the late Ben Coolidge Jamerson and Betty Rowsey Jamerson.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Galen E. Scott Jamerson.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Delilah Ann Chittum Jamerson; his two sons, Benjamin S. Jamerson (Kristy) and Joshua L. Jamerson; a daughter, Michelle Jamerson Plogger; stepson, Jeremy A. Brown; two granddaughters, Madison Jamerson and Elizabeth Grace Holland; three great-grandchildren, Kye-Ezekiel, Kalyana and Zenna; sister, Linda J. Fetherolf (Jay); two nephews, Dylan and Jared; niece, Jenna; his dance partner and devoted companion, Ann; and a lifelong loyal friend, Mike (Michael) Crouch.

Randy was owner and operator of Jamerson’s Garage in Buena Vista as a third-generation mechanic, a 103-yearold family tradition.

He discovered his passion for working with cars and engines early in his youth. His heart and soul was poured into the legacy of Jamerson’s Garage. His ability and ingenuity in the world of mechanics was unsurpassed. Many people saw Jamerson’s Garage as the heart of Long Hollow Road but Randy was the soul. The garage was also a place where friends would just drop by and sit a while. Randy was a friend to all.

Randy was an avid runner; at his peak he would run 120 miles a week. He was highly involved in the dancing community, never missing out on a Monday night dance meeting. That was also his passion and how he met his adventure buddy/love who shared many special moments together throughout the years. He loved dancing and he loved adventures!

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Dean Staton. The Family will be welcoming friends starting at 10a.m. There will be a celebration of life at the American Legion building immediately following the service.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
