MARSHALL HAMILTON
He was born Aug. 20, 1949, in Buena Vista, the son of the late Racey C. Hamilton and Arlene R. Vest Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angelica May Hamilton, and sister, Maggie Smith.
Marshall was a high school and college-level educator. He was owner and operator of Hamilton Personnel Services from which he retired. Marshall loved cooking, gardening, wood crafting, and coaching. He was an author of manuals and personal collections. Marshall’s passions were his family, friends, the church, God, and helping others.
Surviving are his wife, Bernice Gay Hamilton; three children, Shannon Marie Hamilton (fiancé, Joe Mace), Jason Philip Hamilton (Amy Tolley), and Joshua Finley Hamilton; stepchildren, Kimberley Sparks, Terri Wheeler (Kirk), Brooke Dalton (Matt), and Tommy Huffman Jr. (fiancé, Michelle Loflin); two grandchildren, Kylie Flint and Bethany Hamilton; eight stepgrandchildren, John Thompson III, Caytlin Atkins, Jacob Wheeler, Sarah Dalton, Ethan Wheeler, George Dalton, Aaron Wheeler, and Sophia Tryon; six step-great-grandchildren; and brother, Marvin R. Hamilton.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lexington with Bishop Lambert and Bishop Doug Larson officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 13, at Bolling, Grose and Lotts Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rockbridge Area Recreational Organization.
