Charlie lived between Long Island, N.Y., and Lexington. Known as “Johnnie Appleseed” in his youth, he was happiest when he was fishing and boating, listening to classic rock, reading John Sandford novels, riding his bike, and enjoying a free meal.
He was predeceased by his mother, Estre Mahnken, father, Raymond Davis, and stepfather, William Mahnken.
Surviving him are his daughter Holley Davis (Gavin); grandson Rhys McIntyre; sisters Diana Davis (Ted) and Rae Frances Broughman (John); brother Edwin Davis (Melody); nieces and nephews Deirdre (Matthew), Tiffany (Tom), Brittany (John), Carrie (Rob), Spencer (Michelle), Jonathan, and Annalise; and grandnephews and nieces Nicholas, Abigail, Dylan, Delaney, Joseph, and Gabriel.
The family would like to thank Christine Fasching for her untiring support and the Rockbridge Area YMCA for serving as a place of community for Charlie.
