RONALD LINEBERRY

Ronald Gene Lineberry, 74, of Lexington passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital.

Born Nov. 1, 1949, in Lexington, he was a son of Lewis G. Lineberry and Elva Alderman Lineberry. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Garland Lineberry and Darrell Lineberry; and two nephews, Matthew Lineberry and Justin Lineberry.

Ronald was a Vietnam veteran, having proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from the city of Lexington. Ronald was a huge fan of the Natural Bridge Speedway.

A member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, Ronald was an avid turkey and deer hunter, as well as a fisherman. He thoroughly enjoyed his time in the woods or by the river or lake, receiving many citations and awards. “Papa Ronald” loved taking the kids and grandkids on country rides to look for “buck deer.” He never met a stranger and loved talking about hunting to anyone he met. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and nothing meant more to him than his family.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 53 years, Phyllis H. Lineberry; daughter, Tammy L. McComas and husband Morgan of Lexington; son, Chris B. Lineberry of Lexington; five grandchildren, Sarah N. Fox and husband Mikey of Moneta, Caitlin P. Tolley and fiancé Blake Fitzgerald of Lexington, Camden L. Conner of Lexington, Courtney M. Conner of Lexington, and Emma B. Lineberry of Lexington; three great-grandchildren, Chloe M. Sprouse, Carleigh M. Fox and Chase M. Fox, all of Moneta, and one great-grandson on the way.

He is also survived by one brother and two sisters, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members, as well as special friends, Freddie Potter, Tommy Camden, Paul Fix and Guy Coffey, all of his hunting buddies, numerous friends, and special pet, Keke.

A memorial service was conducted Saturday, April 6, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by Dorsey Hostetter.

EVERETTE COLEMAN Everette Sherman Coleman, 71, of Spring Hill, Fla., died March 29, 2024, at Bear Creek Nursing Home.

Born March 14, 1953, in Lexington, he was the son of the late Mary Reynolds and Leo Coleman.

A longtime resident of Lexington, he ran an auto sales business in Buena Vista and drove for UPS. He had moved to Florida four years ago.

Survivors include his partner, Claudia Hinkle; son, Chad Coleman; and sister, Deborah Coleman.

No services were held.
