Born December 21, 1947, in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of Tompkins Alexander Ramsey and Christine Elizabeth Truslow Ramsey.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Eugene Sorrels Sr.

Surviving are son, Thomas E. Sorrels Jr. (Karen); a daughter, Kelly Stalnaker (Tim); five grandchildren, Kelsey Sorrels, Olivia Sorrels, Abigail Sorrels, Sydney Avveduti and Allison Stalnaker; seven great-grandchildren, Peydon, Bryson and Braelynn Sorrels, Raegan and Brynley Clark, Charlotte and Luca Avveduti; sister, Becky Ogden; and brother, Billy Ramsey.

The funeral was conducted Monday, April 15, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel by Pastor Tim Stalnaker. Burial followed at Green Hill Cemetery.
