BETTY HUFFMAN
Betty is survived by her husband of 62 years, David Herbert Huffman Sr., and their children Sidney Huffman, David Huffman Jr., and Susan Brown and her husband James.
Betty was known as “Granny” to her four grandsons, Bren Huggins, Jon Huggins, Jake Brown and Miller Brown. She is also survived by her siblings Evelyn Ayers, Winston Roberts, and John Roberts and his wife Ellen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty was born in Bacova, Va., on Oct. 17, 1936, to Lillian and David Roberts. She graduated from Lexington High School and then from the C&O School of Nursing in Clifton Forge. Betty spent over 40 years caring for others as a registered nurse. She was a devout Christian who lived her faith.
In a family ceremony led by the Rev. Carl Pattison, Betty will be buried at the Miller Cemetery on Broad Creek Church Road on Friday, April 26, at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, Betty’s family suggests that donations be made to Kerrs Creek Volunteer Fire Department at 2880 West Midland Trail, Lexington, VA 24450.
