David DeWitt Monahan

David DeWitt Monahan was born in Subic Bay in the Philippines on Aug. 9, 1979. Better known as “Dave” to all of his friends, he passed away on the morning of April 22, 2024. 

Dave loved cooking, spending time with his children, listening to music and most of all he loved the beach.

During Dave’s final days he spent time with his girlfriend Jenna Somerville Brown of Lexington. Dave enjoyed teaching Jenna about cooking. He was a kind and generous man and an experienced chef and he always had a bright outlook on life. Dave made many friends during his life- he NEVER met a stranger. It was not uncommon to find him conversing with wait staff no matter where he went to dinner. 

Dave is preceded in death by his father, David Wilson Monahan.

Surviving are his children, Tristan A Monahan and Meszick S Monahan; his mother, Barbara B Riester; his sisters, Kathy Monahan (Mike Hagen) and Maggie Riester Jamison (Brandon); and his fake little sister, Amanda S McCaleb.

A memorial service will be held at Harrison Funeral Home Thursday, April 25, from 4 to 6 p.m.
