Patricia Camden Beard, 68, of Buena Vista, went to be with her Lord Saturday, April 27, 2024. 

She was born Aug. 5, 1955, to the late David Drumright Camden and Virginia Pooley Camden. 

She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara Clements, Grace Holstein and Wanda Watkins.

Many came to know Pat by her kind words and gentle touch, greeting all she encountered with a “Hello Sweetie.” She comforted and made many friends with her dedicated years of service to those in need at the Virginia Department of Health and Peebles. There wasn’t a person that Pat encountered that she did not make conversation with. Strangers became friends and extended family to her due to her loving nature and kind spirit.

Pat will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Surviving is her loving husband of 42 years, Barry Beard; daughter Tasha Humphries (Junior); daughter Brooke Tomlin (Donald); three grandchildren, Ethan Humphries, Trevor Tomlin and Brenan Schley; a brother, David Camden (Christy); her canine companion, Duke; many nieces and nephews (whom she treated as her own); and her extended family.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at Bolling Grose & Lotts by the Rev. David Bain. 

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
