Ernie P. Waldeck, 88, of Roanoke passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

Prior to moving to Roanoke, he was very involved at the United MethodistChurch in Lexington. Ernie retired as a communications supervisor from Colombia Gas Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Abbott Waldeck; parents, Ray and Ona Waldeck; brothers, Bill and Steve Waldeck; and sister, Raelene Keffer.

Ernie is survived by his son, David (Bonnie) Waldeck; daughter, Kimberly Waldeck; brother, John (Marybeth) Waldeck; grandchildren, Josh (Tomi) Clark, Deshka (Ross) Miles, Erin (Lance) Rees, Ashley Clark, Brian (Alison) Riley, Lauren (Alexander) Paxton; and great-grandchildren, Noa, Sadie, Lily, Quinn, Grayson, Gavin, Theodore, Graham and Cameron.

The family would like to thank Carilion Clinic Hospice, Dr. Brian Unwin and Michelle Clements, for their loving care.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 21, at Oakey’s South Chapel.
