DAVID ST. CLAIR

DAVID ST. CLAIR

David Allen St. Clair, 54, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, June 28, 2024.

David was born on Jan. 9, 1970, in Lexington to Allen Boyd St. Clair and the late Anita Stanley St. Clair.

He was the grandson of the late Allen Dean and Aurora Stanley of Coeburn and Raymond St. Clair and Ollie St. Clair of Natural Bridge.

Surviving are his father, Allen Boyd “Binky” St. Clair of Natural Bridge; sister, Carrie Young of Bristol, Tenn., and beloved nieces Alex and Grace Young and nephew Gage Young; sisters, Jessie St. Clair of Lexington and Sarah St. Clair of Natural Bridge; and many other cousins, relatives and friends who loved him.

David graduated from Natural Bridge High School in 1988. He earned two associates degrees, one in electronics and one in instrumentation, from New River Community College and began his employment at Georgia Pacific shortly thereafter. He has been employed by Georgia Pacific in Big Island for 29 years. David served our country in the National Guard. David’s faith in the Lord was strong. He was a member of the Natural Bridge Baptist Church.

David was an incredibly gifted artist. He drew and painted, winning various contests at a very young age. David was a talented musician and songwriter. David was always reticent to talk about his talent or his accomplishments, but his eye for the unique and his intuitive grasp of potential opportunities to learn or collect resulted in him being well-versed and successful in almost anything he ventured to do. David never failed to seize an opportunity to play practical jokes on those in his circle.

He had a keen sense of humor and razor sharp wit that resulted in many eye rolls and big laughs from others. David always had a heart for animals, wild and tame. He was a cat lover in particular, and had many feline companions over the years. His current kitty, Frankenstein, is struggling with this loss as well.

David was many things to many people, but most importantly, he was loved by all who knew him. David was a beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He was a steadfast presence in our lives. His absence from our lives will never go unnoticed and none of us will ever be the same without him.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 10, at Natural Bridge Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
