Reed Holman Belden of Lexington passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2024. 

Born 1932 in Brainerd, Minn., he was the son of the late Alice Belden, and spent his early years in Omaha, Neb.

He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1953 with a degree in organic chemistry and began a long and successful career with Allied Chemical.  Reed retired from Allied in 1986 as the vice president and general manager of the Metglas Products division of Allied. 

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Suzanne A. Belden, also of Omaha, Neb. Surviving are his children Lyn Neville (Gary), John Belden (Audrey), and Dane Belden (Portia).

A memorial service will be held at the Anderson Center Hall at Kendal in Lexington at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 17.
