JOY THOMPSON
JOY THOMPSON
She was born Nov. 8, 1946, to the late Leonard K. and Ruth C. Clements. Joy was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. She graduated from Parry Mc-Cluer High School in 1965 and retired as a secretary from Mohawk Industries in Glasgow. She loved her family and always looked forward to beach trips.
Joy leaves behind four children, Cheryl Clements Groah (Allen) of Fairfield, Carol Clements Fitzgerald (Buddy) of Raphine, Tommy Clements (Wendy) of Vesuvius, and Sharon Clements Scruggs (Chad) of Amherst; six grandchildren, Anthony Fitzgerald Jr. (Jessie), Kelly Fitzgerald (Ryan), Amber Clements, Ashlee Clements, Jacob Clements and CJ Scruggs; two great-grandchildren, Ryan Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Fitzgerald; three siblings, Ray Clements of New Port Richie, Fla., Gay “Wendy” Clements Browning of Blacksburg, and Mike “Santa” Clements of Buena Vista; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thurman “Mark” Marshall Clements III; and five siblings, William Clements, Linda Sue Clements Watts, Leslie Clements, Mary Clements and Betty Clements Mayo; and one very special fur baby, Pepper “Pep.”
A celebration of her life along with “Buddy” and “Pep” is being planned for a future date.
Memorial donations in her memory can be made to any local animal shelter as she loved all animals, especially little “Pep.”
