Born Oct. 16, 1940, in Bluefield, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Mildred Parris. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Pat Parris Mason and Carol Jane Parris, and her brother, David Parris.

She is survived by her sister Hattie Parris Bishop and her children Barry Allen Mason and wife Kimberly, Brian Clay Mason and wife Tammy; grandchildren Bayard, Anne Hayes, Parker and Peyton Mason; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to her dear friend, Rachel Lotts and longtime “BFF” Judy Slemp Yost.

Peggy began her career in banking at Flat Top Bank in Bluefield and built her career over 40 years at various banking institutions. She retired from Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group where she was instrumental in forming the compliance department.

She was a devout Christian and her life was a shining example of how Jesus Christ wanted us to live. She touched so many lives in so many ways; her kindness will be missed by many.

The funeral was conducted Monday, Feb. 6, at Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield by Pastor Mark Asbury. Interment followed the service at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield.
