Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 55 years, Rebecca Finney Goodman; his three loving daughters, Julie Haynes, Carole Collins (Rick) and Holly Hodges (Jason); and his treasured eight grandchildren, Trinity and Tyler Haynes, Charley and Carson Collins and Koda, Keeley, West and Millie Hodges. He is also survived by his brother, Bob Goodman (Sandy).

Charles dedicated many years of service to the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service as an extension agent from 1978 to 2002. A Navy veteran and esteemed graduate of Virginia Tech, he found joy in his active involvement at Effort Baptist Church. Above all, Charles’s greatest source of happiness came from spending quality time with his beloved family.

In honor of Charles’s life and legacy, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Effort Baptist Church at 7820 Thomas Jefferson Parkway, Palmyra, VA 22963 in lieu of floral tributes.
