NELLIE HOSTETTER
Nellie was born on Nov. 6, 1942, in Bath County to the late Franklin and Margaret Simmons Kelley. She was a homemaker throughout her life, and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, but also enjoyed listening to the music of Marty Robbins, traveling to the beach, going on cruises, and working puzzles.
In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Eugene Hostetter; a son, Michael Hostetter; a sister, Janie Tyree; and a granddaughter, Tiffany Lineberry.
She is survived by four daughters, Frances M. Bryant and husband Douglas of Lexington, Michele Hostetter and husband Michael of Buena Vista, Valerie Burns and husband Shelton of Millboro, and Lisa Grimm and husband Danny, Jr. of Millboro; a number of stepchildren; three sisters, Sharon Kelley, Edna Sheets and husband Jackie, and Donna Dawson, all of South Carolina; four brothers, George Kelley of North Carolina, Walter Kelley and wife Wanda of Harrisonburg, William Kelley of Millboro, and F.D. “Frank” Kelley of Millboro; 12 grandchildren; a number of step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Jan Cochran of Raphine.
A funeral will be held on Thursday, Sept. 12, at 2 p.m. in Calvary Baptist Church in Millboro with Pastor Dean Staton officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Memorial Cemetery in Millboro.
The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from noon until the time of service at the church.
