Born on June 30, 1948, he was a son of Ruby Mae Hostetter Higgins and James Albert Higgins.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Penni Higgins.

He was a brick mason with Higgins Masonry.

Surviving are his children, Calvin “Ladd” Higgins Jr. and wife Stephanie, Chad Higgins, and Pauline Taylor and husband Derek; grandchildren, Lexi Higgins and Landan Higgins; and siblings, Betty Moore, Rosie Hostetter, Nadine Higgins and Larry Higgins.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
