JUNE CAMPER
JUNE CAMPER
June Camper, a beloved mother, sister, nanny, grananny, and wife, passed away peacefully on Sept. 8, 2024, at the age of 88.
Born on March 2, 1936, June was a woman of extraordinary warmth, love, and compassion, touching the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
June was the proud and devoted mother of three children, who lovingly called her "Mama." She cheered them on through every stage of their lives, always offering her unwavering support and encouragement. Her role as a mother, however, extended far beyond her own family. In her community, she became known as a "bonus mom" to many, embracing friends, neighbors, and anyone in need of care and guidance. June's nurturing spirit, exuberant smile, and infectious joy brightened the lives of everyone she encountered.
Though she was deeply dedicated to her family, June found new life and adventure after the passing of her husband, Kerry Camper, of 59 years. Moving into a senior community, she quickly became a cherished and integral member, bringing her kindness, humor, and vibrant energy to her new home. June's zest for life never faded, and she continued to create connections, inspire others, and live life fully until her final days.
Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing her.
June is survived by her three children, Landon (Cindy), Darrell (Kim) and Lorena (Kelly); her grandchildren, great-grandchildren; her sister, Shirley Moran; and a loving extended family. Her memory will remain in the hearts of her family, the many "bonus" children and other friends she gathered throughout her life.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. at the Buena Vista Baptist Church, followed by fellowship with family and friends at Glen Maury Park.
