RUBY HAMMER

Ruby Bayne Hammer, 84, of Buena Vista passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2024. Born Oct. 17, 1939, in RockbridgeCounty, she was the daughter of Walter A. Bayne and Virginia Forbes Bayne.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Hammer, and brother, Norman Bayne.

Surviving are her son, Dennis James Beverly and wife, Kimberly, and daughter, Joyce Beverly Olson and husband, Mark; three grandchildren, Christina Nicole Phelps, Brooke Beverly Stinnett, and husband, Todd and Courtney Olson Doran and husband, Tommy; six great-grandchildren, Emma Renee Stinnett, Kaley Crews, Makenzie Kelly, Nolan Morse, Noah Doran and Leah Doran; and sister, Polly Campbell.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church by Pastor Adam Williams and Pastor W. David Bain. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ruby’s name to Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church.
