DORIS DULL
DORIS DULL
Doris Lee Randolph Dull, of Buena Vista, passed peacefully on Oct. 24, 2024, at home with her family, just as she had wished.
She was born in 1930 to Lula Mae Burton Randolph and Russell Phillip Randolph, growing up with her brother Walter and sister Bernice in Dayton, Va. After she graduated from DaytonHigh School in 1948, she entered business school. In 1950, she married Richard Houston Dull of Steeles Tavern.
The two started their family in Lexington and in 1955 moved to Buena Vista. Not long after that, she got a job at Peoples Bank in Buena Vista. She continued to work there in progressively responsible positions in a career ending with Central Fidelity Bank. She retired in 1985, and remained in Buena Vista after Richard died in 2008.
Bright, witty and charming, she enjoyed traveling and was an avid John Grisham reader. She loved to bowl and was on a league team up until her early 80s. She played a wicked game of cards, and enjoyed the time she was able to spend along the MauryRiver at the family cabin. She inspired laughter in and gratitude from everyone who had the privilege of being in her company.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Lind (Ray), Sharon Dull (Pat Morrison), Virginia Coffey (Troy), her son W.R. (James Faubion), and her four grandchildren, Carson Lind and Nicholas, Calvin and Jordan Coffey.
Visitation will take place Friday, Nov. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home in Buena Vista. The gravesite funeral takes place Saturday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church, 6410 Lee Jackson Highway, Steeles Tavern.
The family is grateful for the sensitive care at-home LPN Bonnie Branham, and the Connections Plus Healthcare & Hospice team provided her in her last months.
