Shirley Staton Humphries, 89, of Raphine, passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024, at Havenwood Assisted Living.

Born Sept. 1, 1935, in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Harry Loving Staton and Daisy Bell Tomlin Staton. 

She was one of the founding members of the Calvary Brethren Church.

Shirley was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, David Leonard Humphries; grandson, Kristopher Scott Tomlin; brothers, Harry Staton Jr. and Walter Staton; and sisters, Dorothy Staton Humphreys and Lorene Staton Tomlin.

Surviving are children, Ramona Lynn Humphries, Leonard Wayne Humphries and wife Teri, and Vanessa Humphries Tomlin and husband John; six grandchildren, Wendy Clements and husband Tommy, Penny Harper, Jason Humphries, Tina Tomlin Alford and husband Chris, Sarah Lynn and Jessie Lynn; 10 great grandchildren, Anthony Dudley, Kayla Angus, Samantha Thurston, Amber Clements, Ashlee Clements, Kyle Tomlin, Peyton Tomlin, Heleyna Hagood, Shon Wright and Savannah Tomlin; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Peggy Humphries and husband Ray.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8,at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Brother Dorsey Hostetter officiating.
