BILL NOYES

BILL NOYES

Eugene William “Bill” Noyes, the son of Eugene and Rosemarie Noyes and raised in Roselle Park, N.J., passed away peacefully on Oct. 28, 2024, at the age of 89.

Bill graduated from Duke University with a degree in economics, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an air traffic controller at Cherry Point, N.C.

Upon completion of his military service, Bill worked briefly for General Precision Corp in Pleasantville, N.Y., after which he spent his career with IBM where he worked all over the country and world for over 25 years until his retirement.

Bill was instrumental in advancing IBM computer technologies to serve U.S. and Australian defense, national security and space programs. His business and technical contributions were extensive, and included serving as the director of IBM Space Shuttle operations in Cape Canaveral, Fla., for several launches, and as the regional director of IBM-Australia that designed and implemented large integrated information systems for the Australian Defense Department.

Bill was married to and is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Pennie Noyes, of over 60 years. They have four children, Scott (Kristin), William (deceased), Pamela, and Robert (Jennifer), and are further blessed with six grandchildren: William, Alexandra (Kevin), Robert, Emily, Kathryn, and Lydia.

Bill’s favorite pastimes were reading, golf, hiking and fishing. He had a great sense of humor, and loved the beach, country music, good food and wine, and lively conversations with family and friends. For more than a year, Bill had lived at the Mayflower. Our family cannot be grateful enough about the thoughtful care he was given while there.

The family will have a private service for him in Maryland.
