SHARONCOLEMAN
As family and friends mourn our earthly loss, we also rejoice in her faith in Christ, knowing to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, as recorded in 2 Corinthians 5:7-8.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fred P. Camden; husband of 36 years, Larry D. Coleman, whom she married at age 17; and special friend Donna Wilmer.
Surviving are her mother, Thelma Clements of Fairfield; little sister, Sandra Hunt of Fairfield; sister-in-law, Jeanette C. Bryant of Covington; sister-inlaw Doris A. Sullivan of Castlerock, Colo.; daughter Shannon C. Martinez and husband Robert “Joey” Martinez of Salem; Jason S. Coleman and wife Kelley J. Coleman of Buena Vista. In addition, grandkids, Keaton S. Coleman and wife Laci M. Coleman of Buena Vista, Madison S. Martinez of Salem, Tanner J. Coleman of Buena Vista and Ryan J. Martinez of Salem will continue a legacy of love demonstrated by their Meemaw and Mimi.
Sharon is also survived by special friends Charlene Wilson of Natural Bridge, Mary K. Huffman of Buena Vista, and Cecilia Holliday of Woodlands, Texas.
Sharon was the epitome of love. Anyone within her orbit felt it. She loved unconditionally, gave without reservation and was deeply devoted to her family and friends. She was a willing listener to many. A generally private person, the reach of her thoughtful phone calls, cards, texts and social media contacts were vast.
Being a loving mother to her children will be a cornerstone of her legacy. Her son-in-law and daughter-in-law, whom she called “in-luv,” rather than “inlaw,” were loved as if they were her own. She loved her grandkids unlike any other. The initials “KMTR” adorned her license plate; Keaton, Madison, Tanner and Ryan were the pulse of her life.
Sharing meals with family and friends were among her favorite activities in life. Beach getaways and rides on the Blue Ridge parkway brought her great joy, too. And in this, it was seeing joy in others that meant the most to her. She loved animals and critters, and demonstrated such as she fed a neighborhood of cats, birds, deer, squirrels, rabbits, opossum, and an occasional skunk. She cherished time spent with her two spoiled feline rescues, her housemates, Lolo and Lala.
Sharon was a generous financial supporter of Christ-centered missions, donated to Cats Unlimited, and supported dear friend Mary Huffman’s local cat rescue.
PMHS Class of ‘73, you all were so special to Sharon, too. Social media reinvigorated dialogue with classmates. Helping plan and communicate class news and reunions brought her great joy.
The family will accept friends at Calvary Brethren Church Saturday, Dec. 7, from 3 to 4 p.m. A private celebration of life will follow in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Calvary Brethren Church, 1365 Woodland Ave., Buena Vista; and Mary Huffman at Furever Friends Lodge - Cat Rescue. Please identify donations as being in memory of Sharon C. Coleman.
Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services. NG
