Maxine Faye Goodbar Smiley, 85, of Lexington passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2024. 

Born Dec. 24, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Cluster McCoy Goodbar and Florence Zollman Goodbar.

Also preceding her in death are her husband of 42 years, Charles Lee Smiley; grandson Shawn Staton; sister Phyliss Tyree; and brother Henry Goodbar.

Maxine was a member of ManlyMemorial BaptistChurch.

She is survived by children Vickie Smiley Black (Larry) of Lexington, and David Smiley (Denise) of Virginia Beach; grandchildren Travis Black, Lauren Sexton and Meghan Pankau; great-grandchildren Keagan Black, Dustin Staton, Charlie Sexton, Ada Jo Pankau, Garrett Sexton, Thomas Pankau and Lane Pankau; and sister Eloise Sensabaugh.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec 18, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by Dorsey Hostetter.  Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
