FRED ARNDT
Frederick A. Arndt, 91, of Lexington, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024, at his home in the presence of his family. Born March 12, 1933, he was the son of the late Frederick H. Arndt and Ruth Ayres Arndt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Karl Arndt (Vivian).
Fred was born and raised in Lexington and was a graduate of Lexington High School. He attended Washington and LeeUniversity, transferred to Randolph-Macon and graduated. Later, he furthered his education and achieved a degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C. He fulfilled his calling by serving 41 years as a minister in the UnitedMethodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Julia Arndt; son, F. Lindsay Arndt (Gretchen) of Yorktown; daughter, Erika Burkholder of Hampton; grandson, Trevor Arndt; granddaughters, Mikaela Forkin (Thomas) and Amber Roane (Justin); great-grandchildren Elena, Colton, Ariel; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, at Trinity UnitedMethodist Church in Lexington by the Rev. Anita Mays Lucord. The family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall.
