Born May 3, 1940, he was a son of the late Evelyn Conner Smith and Lloyd Giles Smith.

Also preceding him in death was his wife, Romalda Jones Smith.

He was the owner of Smith’s Heating and Air. He was a life-long Christ follower who invested his life in his family, church and community through mentoring and teaching other people.

Surviving are his children, A. Todd Smith (Melody), Randy R. Smith (Libby), and Tammy R. Johnson (Kim); five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and siblings Thomas Smith (Julie Ann) and Elizabeth R. Paxson.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at Green Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Rick Ramsey.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 942, Lexington, VA 24450.

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home and Crematory.
