EVERETT ENTSMINGER
Born on Sept. 3, 1937, in Buena Vista, he was the son of the late David D. Entsminger and Mabel Goolsby Entsminger.
Everett was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Burlington Industries after 41 years of service.
A devoted member of Buena Vista Presbyterian Church, Everett served as both deacon and elder for many years, contributing to the life of his faith community with steadfast dedication. He was also actively involved in the Buena Vista Lions Club, Habitat for Humanity, and Meals on Wheels, embodying his deep commitment to service and to making his community a better place.
Everett had a lifelong love for the outdoors, enjoying countless hours hunting deer, fishing for trout, and tending to his garden. He found peace in feeding the birds and often could be heard whistling his favorite tune as he spent time in nature. His big heart, warm spirit, and strong sense of family and friendship were felt by all who knew him. Everett was always there to offer help, support, and love to those he cared about.
He was preceded in death by his son, Troy Lee Entsminger, and his sister, Mary Wright.
Everett is survived by his beloved wife of 64 and a half years, Mary Catherine Entsminger; son, Jeff Entsminger; daughter, Lori Garrett; two cherished granddaughters, Hannah Conger (Chris) and Hailey Leighton; his sister, Peggy Long (Bill); along with dear family and friends who will miss him greatly.
A funeral to honor his life was conducted on Monday, Dec. 30, at the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Howard Boswell Jr. and the Rev. John McDonald. Burial followed at Green Hill Cemetery.
