BILLY REULEIN

BILLY REULEIN

Frederick “Billy” Reulein, born Aug. 20, 1934, in the Bronx, New York, passed away peacefully Jan. 1, 2025, at 90 years old. His parents were both deceased by the time he was 17.

At a young age, he became a member of the United States Air Force where he served as a radio operator in the Korean War. During his time in the military, he was drawn to education and later earned his General Equivalency Development (GED) diploma which allowed him to apply for schooling at the University of Miami, Florida using the G.I. Bill.

Billy, a newly graduated civil engineer, and his beloved wife, Dorothy, drove cross-country to wilderness areas of California. There he began his career with the U.S. Bureau of Public Roads assisting in the development of national park roads. This career led him and his family to Phoenix, Arizona, and on to Washington, D.C. where he worked on the Interstate Highway System.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of 65 years; his son, William Blane Reulein; his three grandchildren, Jessica, Kendall and Mackenzie; and his daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen, and her four children, Joshua, MacKenzie, Madeline and Mitchell.

While no longer with us, Billy will live on through countless memories and family gatherings.

There will be no formal services at this time. Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
