Born on April 17, 1952, in Rockbridge County, he was the son of the late Roller Hyde Fix and Hannah Moran Fix.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Belinda “Penny” Fix; sister, Frances Tishenor; and brother, Robert William Fix.

Roy is survived by daughters Mary Ellen Fix Coleman and April Lynn Jones; grandchildren Jonathan Coleman (Shandellia Conner), Zachary Coleman, Troy Coleman, Jr. (Kyrsten), and Logan Coleman; great-grandchildren Brenden Cole Coleman, Troy Dale Coleman III (T3), Brock Edward Coleman, and Malachy Sabien Ramsey; one special nephew, Robert “Hobby” Fix; many nieces and nephews; and special lifelong friend and nit-wit sister, Apple Henson.

The family extends a very special thanks to Amanda Webb for her care of Roy.

A memorial service was held Monday, Feb. 20, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel.
