ALLEN GROAH

Allen Houston Groah Sr., 78, ended this journey Feb. 25, 2025, at his home in Fairfield with his wife and sons by his side.

Born July 25, 1946, in Rockbridge County, he was the son of Norwood M. Groah and Ruth Noel Groah.

Allen is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen Losh Groah, and sons Allen Groah Jr. (Cheryl) and Duane Groah. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Timothy, Cassie and Dalton, along with four great-grandchildren, Silas, Layne, Rae and Riley.

He is also survived by sisters, Arlene Walker and Audrey Knick (Dale Powell), and brothers Keith Groah and Curtis Groah.

Allen spent years working as a mechanic for Woody’s Chevrolet before running the Texaco in Fairfield.  He later opened Blue Ridge Guns and Ammo which he ran until he retired in 2014.

He loved hunting and being outdoors and would happily share a hunting story to all who would listen.
