PATTI ROSCOE

PATTI ROSCOE

Patricia Ann Roscoe, 91, of Lexington went to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025.

Born Feb. 6, 1934, in New Britian, Conn., she was a daughter of the late Simon Ferdinand Nelson and Evelyn Johnson Nelson.

In her late teens she relocated to Japan where she met her future husband, Henry Roscoe, who was a captain in the Air Force. They married in 1955 and returned to Ithaca, N.Y., in 1956 where Henry pursued his doctorate in biochemistry at CornellUniversity.

They welcomed two daughters, Pamela and Karen, and she became a traditional, stay-at-home mom.  After moving to north Jersey, they had a son, Jerry.

Patti was a compassionate, loving, and supportive wife and mother. She enjoyed her home and loved to care for and entertain her family. She wanted everything to be perfect. But in 1994 Henry was diagnosed with lymphoma.

As a result, they moved to Lexington.  She was invited to join a Bible study.

During this difficult time, Patti attended Bible Study Fellowship followed by Community Bible Study.  Studying the word of God had a profound impact on her life, character, and priorities.  Through the word, she was born again and received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She started to see God working in her life and one of her life verses became Romans 8:28, “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

Many of us who watched this transformation recognized the power of God’s word and Holy Spirit as it changed Patti.  She truly cared about other people and spent most of her last years bearing rich fruit volunteering at RARA, the hospital, and her church.  She was truly a woman of God and she will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and neighbors.

We believe that if she had one other thing to say to God’s people it would be, stay in the word and only then will you know the truth.

Also preceding her in death were her spouse, Henry George Roscoe, and her sister, Mary Lou Mott.

Patricia was a member of ManlyMemorial BaptistChurch.

Surviving are children, Pamela Kmecz (Glenn), Jerry Roscoe (Loida), and Karen Roscoe; grandchildren, Kristen Kmecz, Matthew Kmecz (Emily), Jennie Wells, and Jasmine Haynes; and great-grandchildren, Addison Kmecz, Elliana Kmecz, Tyler Light, Rylie Light, and Asher Wells.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Thomas Harvey. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Marlene, Hope and the whole Hospice team for their compassionate care.

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home and Crematory.
